Ramesh Balsekar Life and Teachings

What so ever can be expressed in words, every Buddha tries to speak that.
Beyond that for the Essential Teaching, words fall short and silence is the only medium left.
To fill the disciple with utter silence, silence is the only medium.
Generation after generation from time immortal this mystery is happening. It takes less time than blinking of a eye.

When the disciple becomes empty, then the feminine receptivity of disciple is ready to receive the master's essence and the master pours his entire being in the disciple's emptiness.

This has happened again in this century. Sri Nisargadattaji Maharaj has filled Ramesh Balsekar with his pure love.

Ramesh Balsekar Meetimg with Nisargadatta Maharaj

Ramesh Balsekar got retired from a nationalized bank in 1977. During his entire working life he felt that he is playing a part in a play which will soon come to an end. After his retirement, he met Nisargadattaji Maharaj and the first meeting changed to daily meetings at Maharaj's residence. Some times Ramesh Balsekar used to take Maharaj for car drives. Listening to Maharaj, translating his works, drinking the divine presence of Maharaj, Ramesh Balsekar was getting transformed every moment. But total understanding that no one is a doer happened in 1979.

When Sri Nisargadattaji Maharaj left his body in 1981, then Ranjeet Maharaj  - guru bhai (brother) of  Nisargadattaji Maharaj started teaching to fill the gap and Ramesh balsekar started teaching in 1982.

Not all Buddhas speak after awakening. Only one out of the 10 Buddhas speak.

How existence persuaded Ramesh to speak after awakening:

Once Sri Nisargadattaji Maharaj asked Ramesh Balsekar “ why don’t you speak”. On another occasion Nisargadattaji  Maharaj left the seekers sitting in his house and said Ramesh will answer your question today. After around one hour when Nisargadattaji Maharaj came back then he realized no one had asked any question to Ramesh.

While Sri Nisargadattaji Maharaj was on death bed, he called Ramesh close to him and mustered all his strength and said loudly… Speak. And Ramesh's talks started in 1982. One day one Australian guy came to his house and the next day he brought some of his friends and from then, these talks are going on and on.

Ramesh Balsekar has translated some of the talks of Sri Nisargadattaji Maharaj in English and 20 books are published based upon Ramesh's own teachings.

Ramesh Balsekar is a pure Advaita master. In his discourses he uses his own concepts with those of his Guru - Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, and Ramana Maharshi ,Gautam Buddha, Wei Wui Wei, selected Hindu scriptures and from teachings of Taoist Masters. All are saying the same essence.

Essential Teachings of Ramesh Balsekar:

# There is no doer, everything is a happening. In a given situation what so ever we think we should do, we are free to do but final   outcome of event is already predetermined. On final outcome we have no control. So there is nothing called as free will

# If one accepts that what so ever is happening is as per God’s will or Cosmic law then there will not be any complaint or frustration with life.

# But this acceptance will also come to us as per God's will.

So only thing which Ramesh Balsekar suggest us to do is:

Ramesh Balsekar :Everyday spend 10-15 minutes alone thinking over the life events and investigate. Which event in a day has happened because of my action?

If we analyze and go deep in an event then we will realize that we did a particular action because we had a thought of doing that event,

And we have no control over our thoughts.

They come and go, they come from outside.

Some point of time as per God’s will sudden flash of insight will come that there is no doer. If I am not doer then no one else is doer. Everything is happening.

Ramesh Balsekar further says “Acceptance does not mean doing nothing and sitting back, but doing what ever is necessary to be done in that moment. So any moment do what ever you think you have to do”

Question 1: Should I plan for the day

Ramesh Balsekar : Sure, plan for the day but whether the plan happens or not is not in your control. You see it happening everyday. There is nothing preventing you from making plans and getting satisfied in that moment. If it works fine and if it does not works, fine.

Question 2: If everything is predetermined, everything happens as per God 's will then why Buddha, Mahavira, Osho gave so many techniques.

Ramesh Balsekar : That was also happening as per God's wills. Gautam Buddha had said 2500 centuries ago - “events happen, deeds are done but there is no individual doer of any deed”.

Ramesh Balsekar Satsangs are held every morning at his residence from 9.00 a.m to 10.30 a.m.
